"Phillip Hewitt Memorial Window"

Phillip Hewitt Memorial Window

A memorial window by Bev in honour of his Father, Phillip Hewitt.

Bev designed and built this window on the request of his Mother, while residing in Saudi Arabia. It was then hand-carried to the United Kingdom by Bev in order to hang it in The Chapel of Rest, within the grounds of a crematorium in Chester, UK. The chapel was the last project that Phillip Hewitt completed as an architect before he died. The bouquet design shows a mix of wildflowers which includes poppies, wild daffodils, and forget-me-nots.

My style of work is quite varied. From traditional Victorian style leaded windows, to intricate floral pieces, as can be seen by the 'Memorial Window'. From geometric designs following Islamic Art, to abstract pieces with a wealth of textures and colours. Custom designs and build, are welcomed. I also enjoy repair and restoration work. I get a great deal of satisfaction in returning a broken piece to its former glory.

My philosophy !!! . . . . I love a challenge !!!

Islamic Pattern

"Islamic Pattern"
I found the Islamic Pattern (some say it looks Celtic), in a book on Islamic Art. It was painted on a plate. I came up with a design that allowed me to reproduce it using stained glass.

Residencial Commission

"Residential Commission"
A piece that I made for a local home builder and got his approval to install it in their model home. They get a piece of art . . . and I get the exposure.

Kitchen Window

"Kitchen Window"
One of two windows that I have recently installed in my kitchen/dining room.
