Benefit Art Glass Auction Update:One of Canada's finest glass artists, Gundar Robez, has been diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. This terminally debilitating illness has no known cure. Although some experimental treatments are available, these are extremely expensive. Richard Millard held a Glass Art Auction in April at his studio in New Hampshire, USA, with the money going to help Gundar. Thank you to all who donated work and who bid on items! $2,000.00 was raised through your efforts! The "Help a Friend Raffle" for Gundar was held the weekend of April 3/4th and the winner was L. Garklavs. The raffle raised about $9500.00 for Gundar who wishes to extend his thanks to all who purchased a ticket. |
Artists in Stained Glass (AISG) is a 27 year old not-for-profit association of stained glass artists, glass craftspersons, architects, hobbyists, and others, who are interested in the development and promotion of stained glass as a contemporary art form. Members can be anyone who is interested in stained glass art, and who want the latest information on this art form. ie. galleries, artists, architects, students, teachers, etc. As an organization, AISG is totally web-based in its delivery of benefits to it's membership. The AISG Stained Glass Gallery is a valuable resource for stained glass artists who are looking for an economical, affordable way to gain a "web presence". It is also an important way for those glass artists who are established on the web to gain a listing in the major search engines or to increase their standings in search results. (Participation in the stained glass galleries is a benefit of membership. Link to membership information.) The stained glass message board is a valuable free resource to exchange ideas, to look for employment or employees, to ask for help or information on stained glass techniques, to share one's expertise, and to discuss stained glass trends. The News page is open to all studios and stained glass artists (who have websites or e-mail) to publicize their stained glass workshops, lessons or classes. Galleries and organizations are also invited to publicize their exhibitions, conferences, and tours. Stained glass suppliers and publishers are invited to submit new stained glass products and books that are relevant to the stained glass community. Artists in Stained Glass (and this website!) is totally funded by its membership. The AISG website is currently within the top 5 referenced stained glass websites in the Encylopædia Britannica.
